Disneyland Paris Trip
30-09-2022. This morning the alarm woke me up at 02:50 in the morning. I really wanted to turn over and get back to sleep, but then the realisation of the next Disney trip kicks in. I rub the sleep from my eyes (maybe a little too hard) and jump out of bed. I already packed my suitcase yesterday so i only need to grab the bare necessities. I get dressed, carry my suitcase downstairs and greet my cats Kiwi and Maki. This is the part i hate most about going away for a few days. Leaving my precious kitties behind. (They probably won't even care that we are gone, but still) my parents are going to take good care of them. We say our final goodbyes and are on our way.
Danny drives us all the way to France. A total drive of 5 hours. After all these trips it still amazes me how he does it. Such a champ haha.
We arrive on the Disney ground at approximately 9:00 in the morning. Way too early to check in to the hotel. So off to the Disney parks it is.
Avengers Campus is new to us. So we break our tradition and head to the Disneyland Studios first. Normally we always do this on the second day. Luckily it is not that busy and we can actually enjoy the new area without major queues. Avengers Flight Force is first on the list. Aerosmith Rockon Roller Coaster was one if my favs. So if there is one thing i missed the last years, it has to be this coaster. The only thing thats changed is the que line and the visuals during the ride. The coaster itself hasnt changed. I give the overall experience a 7/10. Simply because i loved the previous version much more.
Next up is the Spiderman WEB ride. An interactive ride were you are supposed to help save avengers campus from little spider robots. We received some 3D glasses and a few instructions and off we went. You have to use your arms a hands like Spidey and sling webs to destroy the spider bots. This was such a fun ride but killing for your arms haha. Would not recommend doing this ride multiple times a day. This ride gets a solid 10/10. Such a fun new experience. And you also get a free arm workout in the process
After that the hunger started to kick in. Fortunately Stark Factory was just about to open so we were one of the first customers of the day.
Danny and i both opted for a big slice of pizza. Some other options were salads or pasta's.
The lines for the other rides in the studios park were getting a little bit to long for our liking, so we decided to do a little park hop.
In the main Disneyland Paris park my mission is to find some nice pins. This trip will be my first ever dive into the magical world of Pin Trading.
For my birthday i got the cutest Funko Mickey Pin Trading bag. And i am planning on using it haha. A few years ago Danny purchased a Mickey Pin starter set. I get the honours to go and trade these bad boys.
I ended up trading one pin with a lovely castmemer. I also could not resist buying 2 pins in the stores. A Stitch pin and one from the Phantom Manor.
In the afternoon we enjoyed the final performance of the 30th celebration parade 'Dream... and shine brighter'. Which i'm really going to miss.
This has to be one of my favourite parades Disney has done. The entire croud always bursts into singing and dancing once the music starts. Such a bop.
Since the alarm went off at 02:50 in the morning, the tiredness kicked in hard. So a nice dinner at Rainforest Cafe it is, and off to the Campanille Hotel we went. Hoping for some good hours of sleep.

I ended up getting some good hours of sleep, but Danny had a bad night. The bed was pretty hard and also the pillows were small and soft. Not an ideal situation. But Hey, the Disney magic will pull us through!
Our stay at Campanille included a little breakfast buffet. But we decide to head over to our good friend Earls of Sandwich. He always makes the most amazing egg, bacon and cheese buns. A must try!
Fueled up with some good breakfast we head over to the main Disneyland park. Which is fully decked out in Halloween decor. It has been a good while since i have been in the park during Halloween season. So i'm thrilled to see all the pumpkins, ghosts and fall decoration and also hear the spooky background music. I immediately notice that a lot of guest are also ready for Halloween season. I see people walking around in spooky skirts and witchy outfits. I love it.
Another thing i notice is the amount of people in the park right now. This is going to be a crowded busy day. I'm not really excited about that. At least the weather is good and we expect no showers. So thats a start.
Today i journey further on my pin trading quest. Hopefully Pueblo Trading Post will be open so i can actually make some actual trades.
I ended up buying a few more pins and actually traded 2 pins from the board. Not a bad start if i say so myself. I must admit that i have zero knowledge on the whole pin trading business. For now i don't care about value, but i only go for the looks.
Another thing i'm really excited about is the Halloween Parade.
So we head over to central plaza and pick a spot in the mid circle. Also the perfect spot to film the show. It is the same spectacle as the previous time i was in Disneyland during Halloween. But i don't mind because i missed this show. The dancers are doing such an amazing job and are giving of just the right amount of spookyness.
After the show we just wonder around the park and ask ourselves what we are going to do next. The amount of strollers, foldable handcarts and wheelchairs are getting on our nerves and we start to get a little bit cranky because of the crowds.
After much deliberation we decide it's a good idea to have an early dinner and drive home a night early. Another night of sleeping on a hard bed with the tiniest pillow is not a nice prospect. And luckily Danny has enough energy to drive us back home for the upcoming 5 hours.
Another bonus, seeing our cats a little sooner.
